Levels: Graduate (AP), Graduate, Undergraduate Main Campus Campus Lab Schedule Type Learning Objectives: COURSE DESCRIPTION This course consists of chamber ensembles made up of major and non-major brass performers. COURSE OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES The student will learn the importance of blend, balance, pitch, and rhythmic precision in an ensemble with the same instrument. This course gives the student the opportunity to also work independently in smaller chamber ensembles (brass trios, quartets, quintets, etc.), and is an excellent outlet for hearing and appreciating new compositions for these instrumentations. COURSE TOPICS Course topics will include small ensemble rehearsal techniques as well as other topics related to chamber ensemble performance and pedagogy. Required Materials: A well-maintained instrument, mutes as required by the music. There is no text required for this course. Music will be assigned and checked out to the student.
